Building Civil Society

The aim is to foster a civil society within a community that encourages active engagement, cooperation, and respect for different viewpoints. This requires ongoing dedication, perseverance, and input from all members.
By promoting inclusivity and diversity, we can create a culture of democracy that welcomes everyone. Together, we can work towards making positive changes that benefit our community.

Research and Education

Educating Individuals about Woman Life and Freedom through Human Stories is vital for creating a just and equitable society. Raising awareness among teachers about Middle-Eastern women's history, the importance of promoting gender equality in a gender apatite regime, and how essential it is to empower them and foster an environment where all individuals have the freedom to pursue their aspirations without limitations.

The Founder

My name is Shilan Zade, a first-generation immigrant who learned early how overwhelming Canadian systems can be. I first supported my own family with translations, forms, and government tasks, and over time this help grew to neighbours, students, and community members. My background in teaching, finance, healthcare, and post-secondary education showed me how often families struggle to fit within systems that do not always match their values. While raising my family in Canada, I learned how to navigate these structures without compromising who we are. Education for Humanity grew from this experience, offering clear, respectful, culturally aware support for people who deserve guidance they can trust.

An esteemed Kurdish Canadian, a dedicated faculty member in Vancouver, and a long-standing advocate for women and human rights. With many years of community advocacy, she serves as the BC Anchor for Voice Against Violence, where she empowers and educates women, including supporting their participation and leadership in politics. Her work spans youth mentorship, humanitarian engagement, and public speaking, where she continues to champion gender equality and the advancement of women and girls across cultures. She believes deeply in the power of women’s liberation and equal rights as the foundation of a healthy and just society. Her continued support for the Woman Life Freedom movement reflects her commitment to dignity, safety, and opportunity for all women. Shilan’s community work is strengthened by her multilingual abilities in Farsi (Persian and Dari) and Kurdish (Sorani, Kurmanji, and Duhoki), allowing her to serve diverse communities with cultural understanding and trust.
