Building Civil Society
The aim is to foster a civil and inclusive community built on engagement, cooperation, and respect for diverse viewpoints. As a strong believer in community building, Shilan actively contributes through advocacy and volunteer work, including serving as a BC Anchor for End Violence Everywhere, volunteering with the KOM Community Policing Centres, and contributing as a Member at Large with Conservative Women in Politics. She also previously served as Co-Chair of the Parent Support Committee for the 72nd Seaforth Highlanders Cadet Program.
Voicez For Change
Voicez for Change embodies the principle of being the Change society, especially the people of the diaspora, want to see in the world. This powerful idea inspires individuals to take proactive steps toward transforming their environment, starting with the uprising Woman Life Freedom, advocating for and exemplifying their values. "Voicez for Change" members embody the spirit of positive Change, motivating others to create a better world.
Research & Education
Raising awareness, educating individuals, and empowering communities through real human stories is essential for building a just and inclusive society. Focusing on education and community-based research helps deepen understanding of social challenges and supports informed, meaningful engagement.
To promote knowledge, critical thinking, and shared learning, we can create environments where individuals are better equipped to make decisions, support one another, and contribute to positive change within their communities.
The Founder
My name is Shilan Zade, a first-generation immigrant, faculty member, and Founder of Education for Humanity. I began by helping my family navigate complex systems, and over time, this support grew to serve my community. With experience in teaching, finance, healthcare, and post-secondary education, I understand how challenging it can be to navigate systems that do not always align with people’s needs or values. I am also a long-standing advocate for women and human rights, serving as the BC Anchor for Voice Against Violence and supporting women’s leadership in politics. Through my work, I provide clear, culturally aware support in English, Kurdish, and Persian, helping individuals move forward with confidence and trust.
